Work so far (up to version 0.15)
I've spent a fair amount of time within these last two years using MV. As much as I do love it, I never have been able to get a project out of a tenth of what the final product would be's phase. I've pretty much been stuck in the cycle of starting and erasing games over and over. As with this one, I've been working on it for about a month. It contains slight design aspects that some of my best projects have had, so I feel as though the end result will be something amazing. However, it is still in its embryo stage, so there is no telling what will happen with this.
In terms of gameplay and resources, I have a good variety of things worked out. After choosing your character on the first screen, you're given the option to select an Easy Mode. With this easy mode comes a variety of health and magic potions, an incredibly strong (yet self-draining) weapon, and a switch activation that is meant to change certain outcomes within the game. Although this build has yet to develop those effects, the concept is there.
After entering the first "Life" in this game (world, if you will), you're given the option to gear up almost immediately. If you would like to do so, you may also travel around, collecting treasures and skillbooks. Although the core concept of Life 1 is complete, I still have a couple more bosses, quests, and puzzles to add.
The game is meant to be fragmented into seven different "Lives", each containing a key item for progression that represents either a positive or negative self-trait. In-between certain lives or under certain circumstances, one may be teleport-ed to Medonia Beach, a purgatory of sorts that will allow for return to the main game after certain dungeon crawls and the like.
After defeating Thanatos, you will be teleported to this beach, where version 0.15 ends.
Other than that, not too much is to be said about this first build. Improvement, additions and changes will be addressed as further builds are added.
